I have her book, it's a pretty interesting read except the tree gets cut in the end. after she gets down and the logging company agrees to let the tree live someone sneaks in and cuts the tree anyway. I assume it was of the loggers that did it but they never say in the book. They gave that girl HELL, tried to knock her out of the tree with wind from heli props (and ended up getting fines for flight restrictions (flying too low) She wasn't even an ardent conservationist before stepping into the woods, just a girl looking for "something" said when she saw the trees she knew she had found "it", sound familiar? Thanks for the post man, I really appreciate what you've been adding!!!

Yeah I had the book for a long time before I read it, REALLY bummed me out at the end when some asshole killed the tree just out of spite. She was/is an amazing person, like I said she was never into any kind of activism or anything she was just looking for SOMETHING to do with her life. When she first decided to sit in that tree there was already others( I can't remember the organizations name) taking turns sitting in it and they weren't even going to let her cause no-one knew her, she finally was like "I don't care about you guy's and your rules I'm going in the tree like it or not". She ended up being the only one who saw the WHOLE ordeal through, very commendable. They cut ALL the trees around her trying to scare her out and she hung tough. Sad story indeed.
